Firing - Scott Frankenberger
Seen
below are images of the high-fire kiln during firing, and (later) after
opening the door. The kiln is an 80 cubic foot downdraft gas-fired
kiln. It takes about 11 hours to fire to peak temperature (2200 degrees
F). It then cools overnight and is unloaded the next afternoon. It
holds between 300 and 400 pots, depending on their size.
